[under construction; preparing information for Labtix 2.09 in late summer 2023] The images for cloning in this directory are maintained and updated every quarter. The images are based on Ubuntu LTS releases. For additional information on how to use these images, please refer to: https://www.labdoo.org/de/content/information-labdooers-volunteers The minimum memory requirement to install these images is 4 GB (it might run on 2 GB RAM, but it will be slowly). All actual Labdoo images run on 64-bit CPUs. Since several years 32 Bit-images are not supported anymore by Linux. In file change-log.txt you can read, when an image was updated and which changes are coming with a new image. We recommend to choose your image according to the language of the user (check folders DE, EN, ES, FR): The image name will give you information, e.g. 22_04_LTS_EN_BASIC is based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, language settings are English. BASIC images are coming without any content, so they are small (ca. 15 GB download) and fit on a min. 60 GB disc. In the same language folder you will find control files, which are able to add additional content. You can select and add content during cloning process using Labtix 2.09 or higher. Or you can install content later, once rebooted after installation. The file names show the content and disc size needed, e.g. EN_250 will add content in English and will need min. a 250 GB disk. Please download the content from the folder http://ftp.labdoo.org/download/install-disk/wiki-archive. You will find content for Kiwix and Browser. Before starting an installation please download the content you want to use to a local disc or server. Downloading from FTP server during installation process is not a good idea... ================================ KIWIX http://ftp.labdoo.org/download/install-disk/wiki-archive/kiwix/wikis/ here you will find for some languages zim-archives. You can download and store them on a Labdoo laptop in the folder /labdoo/Public/kiwix/wikis. Or you can start Kiwix being logged in as user labdoo and download archives from the Kiwix repository. ================================ Content to use in a browser http://ftp.labdoo.org/download/install-disk/wiki-archive/wikis/ Here ýou will find in several language folder to be downloaded and unpacked to folder /labdoo/Public/wikis (being logged-in as user labdoo). This content can also being used during cloning process via Labtix or later after reboot by a script by the administrator labdoo. ================================ How to use BASIC images (concept) Labdoo, Labtix installation tool and images for cloning became a victim of its success. The number of helpers and downloads increased a lot and will still increase in the future. Bandwith is shared by too many users, so download time increased because of massive usage. So Labdoo removed in 2nd half of 2023 all images with pre-installed content (> 500 GB of images in total) from FTP server. Now you will find BASIC images without content in the language DE, EN, ES and FR (4 * 15 GB = 60 GB). You also have to download the content archives , but the content does not change frequentely. Using control files you can add content during Labtix cloning process or later after re-booting a devices, being logged-in as administrator (user) labdoo (there is scripts folder on the desktop). Installing content will need time... Once complete and if you will have to install the same image and content frequentely, you can save your own image(s) using Labtix (use Clonezilla on the Labtix desktop). bootable iso's of labtix (installation tool): ============================================= http://ftp.labdoo.org/download/install-disk/Labtix/ - labtix.iso: installation tool, create a bootable USB-stick or DVD Additional folders: =================== - Older Images for Cloning can be found in the archive (not supported anymore) http://ftp.labdoo.org/download/archive/ - temp-uploads: only used for temporary image updates, restricted access (password needed).
